Microsoft tackles iPad with Surface tablet

Microsoft has introduced its own line of tablets, marking a major strategic shift for the software giant as it struggles to compete with Apple and re-invent its aging Windows franchise. The new tablet line, named Surface, includes a consumer device aimed directly at the Apple iPad, and another, larger machine designed to compete with lightweight laptops. Both include a keyboard that doubles as a cover, and both will be powered by versions of the new Windows 8 operating system. The move breaks with Microsoft's operating model of the past 37 years, which has relied on computer manufacturers to make and market machines running Windows. It could throw the world's largest software company into direct competition with its closest hardware partners such as Samsung and HP. The new software is the biggest overhaul of Windows in years, and features a new touch-friendly interface dubbed "Metro". It is scheduled to be available for the Christmas shopping season. The lighter, thinner version of the Surface tablet, built on an Nvidia chip designed by ARM Holdings, will be the first to market at the same time as the general release of Windows 8, and will feature Microsoft's popular Office suite of applications. It is comparable to Apple's new iPad, heavier but slightly thinner. It has a 10.6 inch screen and comes in 32GB and 64GB memory sizes.

New Surface tablet computers by Microsoft are displayed at its unveiling in Los Angeles, California, June 18, 2012. Microsoft Corp introduced its own line of tablet computers on Monday at a press event in Los Angeles, marking a major strategic shift for the software giant as it struggles to compete with Apple Inc and re-invent its aging Windows franchise.

Apple MacBook Air 13-inch (Thunderbolt)

Apple's new 13-inch MacBook Air (starting at $1,299, $1,599 as configured) is better than its predecessor in some key ways. Just like before, this ultraporable is wonderfully thin and light and wakes up instantly when you lift the lid, but the new Air ups the ante with a backlit keyboard and a faster Core i5 processor. The notebook is also more versatile, thanks to a new Thunderbolt port that allows you to connect the laptop to a growing number of super high-speed peripherals, including Apple's new Thunderbolt display.

While the 11-inch MacBook Air has a netbook-on-steroids vibe, the 13-inch Air truly feels like a full-grown laptop. It's just one that you can take anywhere--and look damn good doing it. The sturdy unibody aluminum construction, magnetic latch, and rounded corners make this machine just as elegant and futuristic-chic now as it was nine months ago.Because it now has a backlit keyboard, the 13-inch Air weighs just a little bit more than its predecessor (3 pounds vs. 2.9 pounds), but this is still among the lightest 13-inch notebooks available. Only the 2.6-pound Sony VAIO  weighs less. This laptop is still amazingly thin, too, measuring 0.11 inches to 0.68 inches at its thickest point.

Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch (Retina Display)

To crush the market APPLE releases it's new MACBOOK that is APPLE MacBook Pro .The Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch (Retina Display) is the Laptop you want if you care about performance, thinness, and the screen.

Apple today uneviled all the 15-inch Macbook Pro lineup featuring beautiful Retina display,  all Flash Storage and quad-core processors all nicely packed away in a radically thin and lightweight design.
The new Macbook Pro measures at only  0.71 inches and weighs only 4.46 pounds, with this new design of MacBook Pros Apple has once again created a new line of notebooks and set a new standard when it comes to performance and still maintaining a minimal yet sleek look.

The Retina display itself is glorious. The resolution is 2,880 by 1,800, which sounds like a lot, but text is scaled so it doesn't look too small. Instead of making the letters smaller like on the iPhone 4 or 4S (to see this effect, use one to visit a non-mobile-optomized Website), Apple kept the font sizes consistent with what you'd expect in the real world and just made them smoother. In contrast, text on a MacBook Air looks smooth from your seat, but the individual letters are still jaggy close up. Text on the new MacBook Pro looks smooth from both far away and close up, as if it were laser printed on paper.

The system comes with Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4, so you'll get all the same iLife apps and familiar Mac OS interface. Systems purchased now will be eligible for a free upgrade to Mac OS X moutain lion (Mac OS X 10.8 in all but name) when it is released in a month or so. Mountain Lion will introduce iMessage, Notification Center, Power Nap, AirPlay, and lots of other IOS features to the MacBook Pro and other Macs.
The 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display is available through the Apple Online Store , Apple’s retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers. The 15-inch MacBook Pro is available with a 2.3 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.3 GHz, 8GB of memory and 256GB of flash storage starting at $2,199 (US); and with a 2.6 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.6 GHz, 8GB of memory and 512GB of flash storage starting at $2,799 (US). Configure-to-order options include faster quad-core processors up to 2.7 GHz, up to 16GB of memory and flash storage up to 768GB.

Sony VAIO E15 (SVE15116FXS)

The Sony VAIO E15 (SVE15116FXS) fits that bill nicely, sitting right at the intersection of affordability and usability. This entry-level desktop replacement laptop already had a ledger full of great features—like a selection of premium media editing programs and an advanced webcam sensor—but a new third-generation Intel Core i5 processor puts it over the top with category-leading performance.

The new VAIO line updates with a wraparound design, where the grey plastic surface of the chassis appears to be folded back upon itself to form the bottom and palm rest of the chassis. It's more cosmetic than structural, but it does make for a slick-looking design. The lid is covered in bare brushed aluminum, with a polished chrome VAIO badge in the center.

The VAIO E15 features a 15.5-inch display, with boilerplate 1,366-by-768 resolution. The widescreen display is brightly lit, and provides enough real-estate for tiling two windows side-by-side for effective multitasking.

The VAIO E15 really shines among other entry-level laptops, thanks to its Intel Core i5-3210M processor, a 2.5GHz dual-core processor that's one of the first third-generation Intel CPUs (also called Ivy Bridge) we've seen coming to market. Paired with 8GB of RAM, the new processor helped the VAIO E15 to reset the performance bar across nearly all of our tests.

Its really nice to have lappy with u...........so b fast!!!!!
